FAQs

How does Equine Assisted Therapy work?

Equine Assisted Therapy is a form of experiential therapy that involves working with horses to support emotional healing and personal development. The horses act as a mirror, reflecting your inner world — your emotions, behaviours, and relationship patterns.

What makes this approach unique is that it allows you to experience your patterns of connection in the moment, rather than just talk about them. Horses respond authentically to how we show up, offering immediate and honest feedback. This creates a powerful opportunity for deep self-awareness, emotional regulation, and the exploration of new ways of relating — to yourself and to others — through connection, curiosity, and presence.

Do I need experience with horses to participate?

No horse experience is necessary.

Equine Therapy is about experiencing how we show up in connection and co-regulation. We have even had participants who are afraid of horses enter a session and have profound and unique experiences with the herd.

All sessions are conducted on the ground, and safety is always our top priority. There is no expectation to enter into the paddock or have any physical experience with the horse, simple observation of the horses and how they interact can bring up a lot around how we interpret the world. Brittany will always check in to ensure you are feeling safe and you will be guided every step of the way.

What types of issues do you help with?

We support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, grief, burnout, self-esteem, and more.
