Hello

My name is Brittany and I am the Founder of Finding Clarity Counselling & Equine Assisted Therapy. Finding Clarity is close to my heart and was inspired by my own healing journey—particularly the transformation I experienced through horses.

I’ve seen firsthand the power of a renewed mind, fresh perspective, and the clarity that comes when we begin to truly heal. I hold a deep belief that healing is possible, and that no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone. It is a privilege to walk alongside people as they make sense of their experiences and reconnect with who they truly are.

I am a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association and bring over eight years of experience supporting individuals through trauma, grief, and complex life transitions. I have completed my Diploma of Counselling specialising in Equine Assisted Therapy, and am currently undertaking my Master’s in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I was also honoured to be part of the community support efforts during the 2022 Northern Rivers floods—an experience that further deepened my commitment to trauma-informed care.

Thank you for being here and taking the time to get to know me. I hope, in time, I’ll have the opportunity to get to know you too.

My Story

About Me

Born with a heart for people and a passion for animals, especially horses, led me to discover my calling in counselling. Growing up in suburban Sydney, I yearned for a deeper connection and, when people failed me, I searched for this in horses. I was finally able to embrace this dream at eighteen years old, a survivor of severe bullying among other life circumstances, I found the horse that would send me down this path. My horse, Clarity, became a guiding force, teaching me invaluable lessons about boundaries, self-confidence, and the power of transformation. Together, we embarked on a journey of healing, as I began to unlearn old patterns and re-shape myself into the person I am today, the person I am still becoming.

The Academic Journey

My academic journey began as a serendipitous exploration, fuelled by my journey with Clarity. Over five years, I successfully completed a double degree in Animal Science and Zoology, with a major in Animal Behaviour. During my university years, I embraced an unexpected opportunity as a Youth Work Coordinator, which ultimately led me to discover Equine Assisted Therapy. Motivated by this new information, I enrolled with Equine Assisted Therapy Australia, embarking on a transformative two-year journey to become a qualified Counsellor and Equine Assisted Psychotherapist, specialising in Equine Therapy. Throughout my educational and professional endeavours, I have gained invaluable experience in various support platforms, including Out-of-Home Care (OOHC), Youth Work, Residential Housing, and Aged Care, culminating in the establishment of Finding Clarity Equine Assisted Therapy in 2021. Today I am continuing advancing my experience, currently enrolled in my Master's of Counselling & Psychotherapy as well as undergoing continuous Professional Development. Through these career opportunities, studies and experiences, I have built a wealth of knowledge in understanding trauma and vulnerability and how to hold space for people from all backgrounds, to find rest in their most broken places and begin to take the steps towards healing.

As a Therapist ...

I believe you are at the centre of your journey. I am simply here to provide a safe space for you to explore and become aware of your patterns. Through this process, my heart is that you are empowered to unlearn what no longer serves you and recreate new ways of being, fostering self-awareness and compassion as you reconnect with your true self. Together we embrace the power of curiosity over judgement, of being over doing and enlarge your capacity to support yourself in every circumstance. I would consider it an honour to walk alongside you as you become all of you again.
